INFRASTRUCTURE MAINTENANCE
As the service provider to Special Service Area #1, Chicago Loop Alliance is responsible for the maintenance of, and enhancements to, the public way.
Chicago Loop Alliance conducts weekly street surveys of the area to monitor and address issues including graffiti, construction debris, litter, missing or broken street lights, and any ordinance violations. Chicago Loop Alliance oversees seasonal landscaping in sidewalk planters and medians along State Street; contracts with maintenance crews that provide upkeep of sidewalks and assist with snow removal; ensures power washing and, as needed, the sealing, of all sidewalks; and enlivens the streetscape with seasonal decorations.
A major new investment in the streetscape in 2011 was Lightscape: A Multisensory Experience on State Street.
