TY TABING RESIGNS FROM CHICAGO LOOP ALLIANCE

Chicago Loop Alliance staff says goodbye to its Executive Director Ty Tabing, who announced his resignation. Ty has been a key figure in the renaissance of the Loop, pioneering Looptopia,  Pop-Up Art Loop, Art Loop Open, Winter WonderLoop and Open Streets on State Street among others. Many of these creative endeavors will continue as his legacy.

FIRST THURSDAYS GALLERY WALKS RETURN

For the third summer, Pop-Up Art Loop’s galleries will open their doors on the first Thursdays of each month to feature art, beverages, and good company in unexpected places throughout the Loop. First Thursdays Gallery Walks begin May 3 with "Alterpolitan: An Indoor Sculpture Garden" at the Inland Steel Building (77 S. Dearborn).

ART LOOP 2012 ANNOUNCED

Between June and September, a central Loop intersection will be transformed into an artist’s canvas as part of the annual Art Loop: a program that introduces Chicagoans to the best in contemporary public art. Commissioned by Chicago Loop Alliance, renowned artist Jessica Stockholder will create a site-specific, three-dimensional work of art titled “Color Jam,” saturating streets, sidewalks and building facades with a bold and resonant palette.
